VfB Stuttgart is on the brink of closing dialogues with Brighton and Hove Albion concerning Deniz Undav, if a consensus isn’t achieved this week. This information comes from BILD, which states the German club has implemented an ‘internal cut-off date’ to culminate what has been a protracted negotiation process to reclaim Undav.

The publication highlighted that the discussions between Brighton and Stuttgart have indeed reached a crucial stage, with the latter defining a deadline to terminate them if no positive results are reported. The German club will shift its focus to examine other potential forward options if an agreement can’t be drawn up this week.

Both teams are deeply involved in the transfer dialogue, and Stuttgart has proposed a solid €25m offer. This could potentially inflate over €30m with added bonus payments, setting a new record for the club.

Securing Undav’s position following his fruitful loan spell from Brighton last season is of priority to Stuttgart, and Undav has voiced his desire for a return on multiple occasions. He’s looking to become one of the highest earners at the German club with an annual remuneration exceeding €3m. A mutual consensus on this point is already in place, however, he is insisting on a four-year term while VfB is offering three.

This final obstacle is expected to be crossed following a successful arrangement with Brighton. However, if this isn’t accomplished by Sunday evening, Stuttgart is willing to back out.
