Deniz Undav is on the verge of realizing his dream of leaving Brighton for Stuttgart in a deal worth approximately £30m this summer. After a successful loan spell with Stuttgart last season where he played a key role in securing Champions League qualification for the team, Undav emerged as the top-scoring German in the Bundesliga with 19 goals and 10 assists. Despite his notable contributions, Undav felt underappreciated by Brighton and has been vocal about his desire to move to Stuttgart.
Negotiations for the transfer have been intricate, but it seems that both clubs are nearing a final agreement for the 27-year-old striker who originally joined Brighton in 2022 for £6m from Union SG. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the developments by stating, “Stuttgart have reached a deal with Brighton for the signing of Deniz Undav. Agreement is set at €30m plus add-ons, as indicated by @kicker_VFB. Undav, who expressed his wish for the move, is pleased after lengthy discussions between the clubs.”
Undav himself expressed his disappointment with Brighton, stating, “During my time away, I didn’t feel valued or supported by Brighton. It became clear to me that Stuttgart truly appreciates and values me, unlike my experience at Brighton.”
