‘I Refuse to Let Go!’ – Hull City Chief Drops Major Bombshell Regarding Birmingham City and Derby County Pursuit

Hull City manager Tim Walter has expressed his desire to retain the services of Ryan Longman, who has attracted interest from Birmingham City and Derby County this transfer window. Longman, 23, returned to Hull City after a successful loan spell at Millwall last season and has been a key player for the Championship side during pre-season matches.

Despite suffering a shoulder injury in the recent game against Reading, Walter remains keen on keeping Longman at the club. Speaking to BBC Humberside Sport, Walter praised Longman’s performance in friendlies and expressed his intention to retain him: “He did a good job, so I wanted to keep him for sure. He developed well last year at Millwall and during pre-season in Hull and Istanbul.”

Although Longman’s injury setback comes at an inconvenient time, his focus is on recovering and regaining fitness for the upcoming season. With Hull City set to kick off their campaign against Bristol City, Longman was hoping to secure a starting spot after impressing in recent friendly matches.

While there are speculations about Longman’s future and potential interest from other clubs such as Birmingham City, Derby County, Wrexham, and Millwall, Walter’s confidence in the winger suggests he is a key part of Hull City’s plans moving forward. However, with his contract expiring in 2025, Hull City may need to make a decision to either sell him before risking losing him for free next year.

Having progressed through Brighton and Hove Albion’s academy before joining Hull City in 2021, Longman has shown promise with his performances for the Tigers. Under Walter’s guidance, he is expected to play a significant role in the team’s upcoming season.

As Hull City prepare for their first fixture against Bristol City and a Carabao Cup clash with Sheffield Wednesday, Longman’s future at the MKM Stadium remains uncertain, but Walter’s commitment to keeping him signals a fresh start for the talented winger.
