Luton manager Rob Edwards is at the cusp of deciding whether to secure the services of former Everton prospect Liam Walsh on a free transfer, following the midfielder’s recent training stint with the Hatters.

Assistant boss Richie Kyle, who previously assisted Everton’s academy, was already familiar with Walsh. “Richie is aware of him. All Liverpudlians seem to know each other anyway, so Richie knows him. You can see them conversing in a language that’s indecipherable to others, but they seem to be getting along well,” noted a member of the Town backroom staff.
