Following an active summer of signings, Sheffield Wednesday may now be looking to trim their squad through player exits.

After Mallik Wilks’ loan move to Rotherham United, with it appearing unlikely he will return, more exits may follow suit. Bailey Cadamarteri and Pierce Charles are among those reportedly set for loan moves, with interest from EFL clubs and Crawley respectively.

As Sheffield Wednesday invested in new talent like Yan Valery and Olaf Kobacki, alongside the £3 million acquisition of Ugbo, club owner Dejphon Chansiri seems inclined to balance the books.

One player who could be on his way out is fan favorite Callum Paterson. Despite his popularity among supporters, Paterson’s limited playing time in the Championship last season and absence from this season’s matchday squads suggest a potential departure.

Reports indicate that Paterson, along with several other fringe players, may be available for transfer this month. While Paterson’s absence would mark a significant change for Sheffield Wednesday, it aligns with the club’s evolution, especially with new attacking additions strengthening the squad.
