Reports from Swedish media suggest that AIK midfielder Lamine Fanne is nearing a transfer to Luton Town just before the imminent closure of the transfer window. The 20-year-old has attracted interest from both a Championship side and an Italian club in recent days.

According to Expressen, Luton Town is advancing in their pursuit of Fanne, with the player expected to travel to the UK today for his potential move to England. The deal is speculated to be worth around £5m with additional bonuses, and Fanne is set to undergo a medical examination upon his arrival in London.

Although details regarding the length of the contract offered to the defensive midfielder are unknown, Luton Town successfully outbid Venezia, who had made two previous offers for Fanne. The player has featured in nine league matches for AIK this season, managing to score one goal. His current contract with the Swedish club extends until June 2027.
