JAW-DROPPING BOMBSHELL: Derby County in turmoil as Curtis Nelson DROPS bombshell demand for teammates after Carabao Cup disaster – Will the Rams survive the season?

August 29, 2024

Derby County suffered a disappointing exit from the League Cup at the hands of Barrow on August 27th. The previous encounter between the two teams in 2020 had seen Derby triumphing, but this time around, Barrow emerged victorious in a penalty shootout after a goalless draw.

With the focus now back on the Championship, Derby will face Bristol City at Pride Park this coming Saturday. The team’s season started with a 4-2 defeat to Blackburn Rovers, but they managed to secure a 1-0 win against Middlesbrough. However, subsequent losses to Watford and Barrow have raised concerns about their goal-scoring abilities.

Curtis Nelson, after the defeat to Barrow, emphasized the need for a change in approach to break down opponents and find the back of the net. The team’s struggle with injuries, including setbacks for players like Kane Wilson, Eiran Cashin, and Ben Osborn, has further exacerbated their challenges.

As the squad depth remains a pressing issue, manager Paul Warne faces the task of rectifying their goal-scoring woes and strengthening the team before the upcoming fixtures.
