In a recent revelation, former Everton chief Keith Wyness disclosed that Wolves are unlikely to make any significant moves in the remaining days of the transfer window.

During an episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness, now a football consultant for top-tier clubs, expressed his concern over the current state of the Wolves squad. He mentioned that fans are apprehensive about the team’s situation and noted that Gary O’Neil’s initial success might be fading.

Wolves have secured permanent deals for Rodrigo Gomes, Pedro Lima, and Tommy Doyle this summer, with Jorgen Strand Larsen joining on loan. Conversely, they have witnessed the departures of Pedro Neto and Max Kilman for substantial fees.

Suffering two defeats and conceding eight goals in the Premier League, Wolves find themselves in 19th place on the table.

According to Wyness, it is unlikely that Wolves will make any major moves before the August 30 deadline. He acknowledged that financial constraints have influenced Wolves’ transfer activity, especially after the departures of key players like Neto and Kilman.

The only probable addition could be a new goalkeeper at Molineux, suggested Wyness. Despite concerns from fans about the squad’s strength, he hinted that Wolves may not be very active in the upcoming week.

While acknowledging O’Neil’s coaching abilities, Wyness emphasized that the team’s recent defensive struggles might indicate a challenging period ahead.
