September 1, 2024

Derby County has clinched victory in their ninth consecutive home game, maintaining their winning streak as they transition to Championship football this season. The team wrapped up the 2023/24 campaign in style at Pride Park and are clearly continuing the momentum. Their recent triumph over Bristol City, following wins against Chesterfield and Middlesbrough, marked a significant milestone as they demonstrated strong attacking prowess with a 3-0 victory.

Despite Bristol City controlling possession, Derby County’s clinical finishing secured them all three points. New signings Kenzo Goudmijn and David Ozoh found the back of the net for the first time since their arrival in the summer, while Kayden Jackson added his third goal in six matches.

Goudmijn, formerly from AZ Alkmaar, showcased his talent on the field, impressing against Bristol City. After scoring his debut goal, he took to Instagram to express his excitement about the remarkable game: “Great day at Pride Park 🀍 First goal and an outstanding team performance πŸ’ͺ Let’s go Rams 🐏🐏🐏”.

Derby County’s Goudmijn received widespread acclaim from his teammates, with Ozoh expressing his support with a message after scoring his own goal.

In response, Ozoh wrote: β€œKeep it up bro! πŸ€žβ€

Following suit, the second goalscorer Jackson added: β€œπŸŽ―πŸ”₯”.

Callum Elder showed his support with: β€œβ€οΈπŸ”₯”.

Liam Thompson cheered with a simple “Shoooot”.

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing showered praise with: β€œπŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜ kenzooooo”.

Josh Vickers shared his admiration with: β€œπŸ˜β€.

Joe Ward added his own touch with: β€œπŸ‡³πŸ‡±βœ¨β€.

Calvin Stengs, the star from Feyenoord and the Netherlands, even reached out to Goudmijn, saying “Nekz”.

The midfield of The Rams has truly performed exceptionally this season. The unexpected strong start from Derby must be credited to a positive transfer window, resulting in two wins out of four in the Championship so far.

Goudmijn, the Dutch player, has played a vital role in their ascent to the second division and truly displayed his capabilities at Pride Park in the recent game.

In the match against the Robins, Goudmijn showcased 47 touches, made a key pass, created a significant chance, had three shots on goal, and also contributed with an interception and a tackle.

Forming a promising chemistry with new signings Ozoh and Ebou Adams, Goudmijn is part of a revamped midfield trio compared to the one from last season in League One.

While Derby parted ways with several midfielders at the end of last season, the reshaped midfield with Goudmijn, Ozoh, and Adams is likely to play a crucial role in the team’s quest to stave off relegation.
