James Tavernier faced a hostile exit from Ibrox as security had to accompany the Rangers skipper out of the stadium following an encounter with an angry fan.

In the aftermath of a disappointing 3-0 loss to Celtic at Celtic Park, a group of upset supporters congregated outside the Govan venue to express their frustration. The mood was somber as the rivals from across town outperformed the Gers, pushing five points clear at the summit of the league table.

Approximately 100 fans chose to voice their discontent towards Philippe Clement’s team as they arrived back at Ibrox post-match. The players encountered a barrage of insults and disapproving shouts as they disembarked from the team bus, sensing the disappointment and resentment of the loyal fans after yet another defeat against their fierce adversaries.

Videos circulating online depicted Clement facing a chorus of boos from fans as he navigated through a group of disgruntled supporters en route to the parking lot. Another clip emerged, capturing a more intense verbal altercation involving a fan who aggressively criticized the entire Rangers squad as they exited through a side entrance at Ibrox.

The incensed individual targeted the players with scathing remarks, branding them as “embarrassing” and singling out Tavernier, demanding his presence. Upon Tavernier’s appearance, the fan unleashed a barrage of insults, accusing the captain of incompetence and failure.

Tavernier responded briefly before security personnel intervened, swiftly removing him from the escalating confrontation. Despite being escorted away alongside his disappointed teammates, the captain remained engaged as the fan’s anger continued to reverberate in the air.
