Derby County forward Jerry Yates has lauded the coaching methods of Paul Warne, attributing the team’s strong start in the 2024/25 Championship season to the manager’s influence. With the Rams currently in 10th place after securing two wins in their initial four matches, Pride Park has become a formidable stronghold where they have triumphed against Middlesbrough and Bristol City without conceding a single goal.

Despite the absence of key signings, including Nat Phillips, who is set to debut against Cardiff City, Warne has shown a willingness to adjust formations to integrate new players like the Liverpool loanee seamlessly. Another newcomer, Jerry Yates, who faced a suspension from his time at Swansea City, has commended Warne for his hands-on approach in training and getting him match-ready promptly upon his return.

Yates shared his thoughts with Football League World, expressing admiration for Warne’s relentless work ethic and commitment to player development. The striker highlighted Warne’s focus on maintaining fitness levels and pushing players to excel, emphasizing the positive impact of the manager’s honesty and dedication.

Looking ahead, with Warne contemplating a tactical shift to accommodate Phillips and potentially deploy two strikers, Yates is expected to form a promising partnership with Derby County’s recent addition, Kayden Jackson. While Yates brings strength and holding capabilities to the frontline, Jackson’s pace and off-the-shoulder runs are poised to enhance the team’s attacking prowess under Warne’s guidance.
