In an update today, Paul Warne confirmed that Ben Osborn is ready for Derby County’s upcoming match against Cardiff City, and Kane Wilson is set to return to training. However, on-loan Wolves midfielder Tawanda Chirewa will miss the game due to a head injury sustained while on international duty for Zimbabwe. Jake Rooney is still recovering from a knee injury and remains out.

Speaking at a press conference, Warne mentioned, “Kane and Ben are back in the picture, with Jake making progress. Unfortunately, Tawanda is following concussion protocol.” Despite various players being on international duty, only Chirewa faced setbacks, whereas others like Ebou Adams and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing returned unscathed.

Warne humorously noted his efforts to prevent players from going on international duty. He expressed concern about their well-being and the challenges posed by different time zones. While he joked and monitored their activities closely, Warne emphasized the relief of seeing them return unharmed, especially when they play minimal minutes.
