In a heartbreaking turn of events for Sheffield Wednesday, QPR clawed back in injury time to level the score after a goal by the Owls seemed to secure victory. Despite a strong performance from the adjusted Wednesday lineup, the match remained goalless until Bannan’s spectacular strike ignited Hillsborough. However, QPR’s Alfie Lloyd managed to net a late equalizer in a chaotic goalmouth scramble involving most players on the field.

Danny Röhl, Wednesday’s manager, expressed his satisfaction with his team’s performance and progress following a series of scoreless defeats leading up to the international break. Röhl voiced surprise at the lack of a foul call on Anthony Musaba before QPR’s goal. Noting the team’s struggle with set-piece defending, particularly after conceding six such goals in the Championship this season, Röhl stressed the need for improvement in this area.

“We have to learn and improve from these situations,” Röhl emphasized. “While today was a tough setback, we will continue working hard to rectify our vulnerabilities in defending set pieces.”
