Having just won against Southampton, Wolves will be hoping to build on the momentum when they take on Fulham this weekend.
The victory over Wolves was the first of the season for manager Gary O’Neil in the Premier League and fans are hoping to see a rise up the league table. Even after the win, sections of the fan base continue to demand O’Neil be sacked as they feel any victory over Southampton merely papered over cracks.
Should Wolves trip up at Fulham, though, O’Neil is bound to come under fire and scrutiny once more.
O’Neil has raised a few concerns ahead of the next game. Santiago Bueno has ruled himself out of the Uruguay squad cast a doubt over his readiness whilst Craig Dawson is battling fitness issues.
Boubacar Traore is still ruled out through injury. Traore’s been sidelined for months with a serious meniscus injury and had only played one game this season — in the Carabao Cup against Burnley — but was on his way to Feyenoord on loan before the setback.
In some of his more recent comments, O’Neil updated on the injured players and said that Sasa Kalajdzic is ‘closing in’ on a return within weeks and Traore’, time-frame wise, falls into the same bracket.
With regard to Traore’s future, it appears Wolves will explore a loan move for the midfielder in January.
