Three of the Wolves players are now hovering just one yellow card away from a one match ban in the English Premier League, they are now both with four yellow cards. The Premier leagues’ suspension policy means that when a player has received five yellow cards before match week 19, he sits out one match, and any other case where the tally hits 10 or more yellow cards before match week 32, results to a two match suspension.
Nelson Semedo has already violated this rule as he received his fifth yellow card in the 4-2 lost to AFC Bournemouth. As a result, he will not be part of the Wolves’ match against Everton at the Goodison Park.
Among the scholar-athletes of Wolves at the moment who needs to be careful not to get a suspension are Rayan Ait-Nouri Joao Gomes and Toti Gomes. Ait-Nouri and Joao Gomes have been part of the team’s13 matches this season while Toti has only been benched in two matches hence the big blow.
Below are warnings for the trio as they prepare for the remaining six matches of the season; Everton, West Ham, Ipswitch town, Leicester city, Manchester United, and Tottenham. At the same time, the club captain, Mario Lemina could be in the same boat as [Hakim] Ziyech since the latter is currently carrying three yellow cards.
Wolves head a list of eight clubs with three of their players standing a chance of being suspended, together with Bournemouth and West Ham. A yellow card in the next match for Lucas Paqueta or Tomas Soucek eliminates them from the expected Monday against Wolves on the 9th of December.
Talking about Aston Villa then no player is in a serious trouble of suspension at the moment. But, Adam Lallana’s card would have made him miss the match against Southampton at Villa Park. Today Aston Villa has those suspensions problems that denied Tyler Dibling, Flynn Downes, and Taylor Harwood-Bellis the opportunities to play.
