Even though the team was able to salvage a point from the match through Michael Smith, a 76th-minute equalizer, Rohl had harsh words for his team’s lethargic performance that lacked fight and desire for the match. The German boss expressed doubt as to whether his players possess the right mindset needed win in the Championship, and stresses that for him, this is a loss, not a draw.

Rohl’s bitterness might be considered unreasoned since the draw advanced Wednesday to the top ten, yet they underline the record Rohl aims at for his team. During his appointment last season Rohl has been instrumental in changing the fortunes of the side and he must understand what it takes to succeed.

Rohl may be overly critical, but one cannot deny that a certain pressure on players is growing. He wants to witness a barbarous, orderly, and even shameful strategy that would be specific for home use. The players, to their credit, did display character and fight to earn a draw but Rohl would want a far better showing when they entertain Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday.

The play-off places are now well in the frame and Rohl will be eagerly awaiting a reaction from his charges. Anything less and the pressure of the Sheffield Wednesday boss will continue to build up.
