I’m not sure what it will take to actually turn things around – only the very brave or foolish will bet on Gary O’Neil to deliver, yet despite our perilous position, the Wolves faithful continues to support us.
Wolves fell to a crushing West Ham United loss at the London Stadium which summed up their run of poor form. This was Wolves’ third straight loss and now has the future of manager Gary O’Neil as uncertain as ever.
The much hyped showdown, el Sackico, Wolves opened themselves up creating scoring chances but failed in defensive discipline. Soucek headed home from a corner for West Ham but Doherty came off the bench to equalise for Wolves. But it was Jarrod Bowen’s fast thinking and precise finishing that put West Ham back in front and leave Wolves stunned.
The last minutes were more tense and the match was finished with controversy: the captain of the Wolves’ team Mario Lemina clashed with the opponent’s players. Lead matches Awal happened between Lemina and Bowen when Bowen tried to shake hand with Lemina, but the later refuse to and the two engaged themselves in the exchange of blows. The situation got worse and worse with Lemina physically attacking West Ham players and coaches and even the members of the staff, including the Wolves assistant Shaun Derry.
Another journalist named Liam Keen Twitter comment reported the incident in this way, ‘All kicking off on the pitch… As for Lemina here, he has lost his head. Now pushing and shoving with Toti and staff manhandling him out of the scene.
Lemina’s outburst is not quite clear although it is noticeable that the team was under immense pressure after the shameful loss that Wolves suffered. While some has said that Lemina has the passion and commitment which is expectant of any captain, others has said that, the behavior of Lemina is not good.
While Wolves’ performance stays low, all the stakeholders’ attention is focused to the club board as people demand to take direct measures. If the status of both parties remains undefined, then wolves’ lead officials need to bring the situation to a mutually agreed end before things worsen.
