Vítor Pereira’s deal with Wolves runs until the end of the current campaign, and so far there has been no official word on an extension. Still, sources close to Molineux News indicate the club’s intentions are becoming clear.

When Pereira arrived last December, Wolves were in dire straits—sitting 19th in the Premier League and staring relegation in the face. His arrival sparked an immediate turnaround. He quickly instilled belief, reshaped the team’s style, and managed to lift Wolves out of danger, finishing the season in 16th place.

This new season, however, has not started as smoothly. Wolves have yet to pick up a point from their first three outings, raising questions about whether last year’s magic can be repeated.

Wolves leaning toward a contract extension

Despite the shaky start, the club is pleased with Pereira’s leadership. According to insiders, Wolves plan to open talks over a new deal in the coming months. The hierarchy is eager to see how recent signings settle in and whether performances begin to improve, but overall satisfaction with Pereira remains high.

Importantly, Wolves won’t be rushed. After the misstep of handing Gary O’Neil a lengthy contract too early, the board is taking a more measured approach this time. Even so, all signs suggest a renewal is the most likely outcome.

Why Pereira is still the right man

Some fans online have floated the idea of bringing back Nuno Espírito Santo, who is currently available. But while nostalgia is powerful, Wolves risk undoing the stability Pereira has started to build.

Since his arrival, Pereira has proven himself capable of guiding Wolves through adversity. Given time and patience, there’s every reason to believe he can mold this squad into a competitive side once again.
