At his Thursday press conference, Farke confirmed that both Dan James and Willy Gnonto are doubts for the trip. “Dan James is a major doubt. Willy Gnonto is also struggling with some calf problems,” he revealed.

That admission immediately sparked debate among supporters over who might step in. Brenden Aaronson was handed the role against Fulham but failed to make any impression, leaving many convinced that Jack Harrison, given his track record against Wolves, would be the smarter option.

With the Fulham experiment fresh in fans’ minds, Farke risks inviting severe criticism—if not open calls for his dismissal—by deploying Aaronson out wide again.

Aaronson’s Role in Question

Once viewed as Leeds’ number 10, Aaronson struggled to impose himself even in his preferred position last season. With Farke’s system no longer relying on a traditional playmaker, the American’s place in the squad has become increasingly uncertain.
