Crystal Palace have reportedly submitted a firm proposal to sign Bayern Munich defender Sacha Boey ahead of the January transfer window.
According to the BILD podcast Bayern Insider, Palace manager Oliver Glasner has been in direct communication with Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund as talks progress. German outlet 4-4-2 has echoed the same information, suggesting Boey could be allowed to leave as early as next month.
Boey, whose contract runs until 2028, joined Bayern from Galatasaray at the start of 2024 for around €30 million. Despite arriving with high expectations, he is now considered surplus to requirements, and Bayern are reportedly ready to accept a fee of about €15 million — half of what they paid.
Palace make their move
The report claims Palace have already tabled a “concrete offer” for the 25-year-old, with Glasner personally involved in discussions to push the deal forward.
This follows previous reports indicating that Palace view Boey as a potential successor to Daniel Muñoz. The Colombian full-back has openly expressed ambitions of securing a big transfer, prompting the club to prepare for his possible departure.
Boey, who impressed during his time at Galatasaray before moving to Germany, has now emerged as a leading target for the Eagles as they look to reinforce their squad for the second half of the season.
