MAN UNITED NIGHTMARE! Crystal Palace Joins Race for Guehi’s ‘BEAST’ Successor! They’re Making a SHOCK Move for the Defender Having a ‘MONSTROUS’ Season

Crystal Palace have entered the chase for a centre-back enjoying a “monstrous” season, with fresh developments emerging around Marc Guehi’s future.

Guehi once again showed how vital he is to Palace after the club blocked his deadline-day move to Liverpool. The defender delivered another outstanding display in the recent win over Fulham, scoring a late winner and earning a 7.9 SofaScore rating—the highest of anyone on the pitch. His impact in the final third has been notable this season, with two goals and three assists helping Oliver Glasner’s side climb into fourth place.

Despite his importance, TEAMtalk report that Guehi is expected to either leave for a reduced fee in January or walk away for free in the summer. As a result, Palace have identified Lens defender Samson Baidoo as a potential successor.

Baidoo has been one of the standout performers in Ligue 1 this season, playing a major role in Lens’ surprise position at the top of the table. The 21-year-old’s form has caught the eye of several clubs, including West Ham, and has contributed to Lens boasting the second-best defensive record in the division.

Journalist Andres Onrubia Ramos has praised Baidoo heavily, describing him as a “beast” and saying the Austrian is having a “monstrous” campaign. Like Guehi, he has shown strength both defensively and going forward, making him an appealing long-term option for Palace. Baidoo only joined Lens in the summer and is under contract until 2030, meaning the French club are in a strong position should interest escalate.

Palace remain determined to keep hold of Guehi, especially with Glasner’s side pushing for European football, making a January departure unlikely. But if the England international does move on next summer, Baidoo appears to be a strong contender to replace him.
