Tottenham Hotspur is showing strong optimism in their pursuit of signing Genoa’s center-back Radu Dragusin in the near future. Journalist Rudy Galetti has provided insight into Tottenham’s chase for Radu Dragusin, indicating that the club is heavily inclined towards securing the services of the young defender.

The prevalent belief is that Spurs are on the verge of acquiring a new center-back in the ongoing transfer window, with Dragusin emerging as their primary target. It’s been reported that Ange Postecoglou is actively advocating for Tottenham to secure the Genoa standout.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Dragusin has already reached a personal agreement with Tottenham in anticipation of a potential move to North London. However, the two clubs are yet to settle on a transfer fee for the Romanian defender. Galetti has mentioned that Tottenham and Genoa are only separated by a ‘few million’ in their negotiations to finalize the deal.

Galetti’s recent update on Tuesday highlights the progress in discussions between Tottenham and Genoa, indicating an overall sense of optimism on the English club’s side to complete the transfer swiftly. The focus is on attaining an agreement at the earliest opportunity, with plans for further talks in the pipeline.

At 21 years of age, Dragusin has showcased impressive performances for Genoa in Serie A this season, amassing 18 league appearances, alongside two goals and one assist from the center-back position. With Tottenham facing shortages in central defense due to injuries to Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, the acquisition of Dragusin has become increasingly crucial.

Despite Van de Ven’s impending return to action, Romero’s extended absence until the end of January necessitates a swift resolution in bolstering the team’s defensive options. The speculated fee of approximately £26 million for Dragusin appears to be a compelling prospect for Tottenham, given his potential to provide robust cover for the injured players and offer a different defensive profile, with a commanding presence in aerial duels and a proactive defensive style—attributes that align well with Postecoglou’s tactical approach.
