JUST IN: Blade Legend Left Completely Devastated and Furious Following Heartbreaking Sheffield Wednesday Result at Hillsborough

Stuart McCall ex Assistant manager of Preston North End was so disappointed after his side only managed to get a 1-1 stalemate against Sheffield Wednesday. The visitors could only manage a 1-0 lead into the second half and conceded an equaliser to Michael Smith after Emil Riis put the ball in the back of the net.

McCall, in his dual capacity as the player, and a representative of manager Paul Heckingbottom, complained about having thrown away two points. Speaking about the result Fonseca said: ‘We are a bit frustrated and disappointed that we didn’t manage to get all three points. “The lads showed a lot of character and in truth we should have won the game given the chances created”.

Even though McCall recognised that Sheffield Wednesday have been in good nick recently, he felt that Preston deserved more than the single point earned. “It’s mixed emotions, really. Obviously we are disappointed because we believe we should have won the match but there are things to be said about the performance. We were dominating, organised and handled pressure well.”

The draw gives Preston a taste of what might have been but there is no doubting that McCall has faith in his team for the future. In my opinion, if we are to continue with that kind of performance, we will start to win the games in question. All we require to do is become more aggressive in the attacking zones.”

In other games, Preston North End who suffered a defeat would hope for better results when they are against Cardiff City on Wednesday while Sheffield Wednesday will prepare for the match against Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday.
