Buckingham also added that his players should stay focus and add on the lead in order to make more goal scoring chances. ‘Goals are games,’ the saying goes, and we had some big moments to extend the lead, he said to BBC Radio Oxford. ”I thought we deserved a 1-0 and then we have two or three chances after that to make it bigger.”
However, Buckingham admitted that his team were to be blamed for not converting the chances that came their way. “What we’ve learned in this year is that if you don’t take your chances, the opposition will whether it is a corner or a ricochet inside the box,” he said.
The loss was unpalatable to Oxford United but credit to Sheffield Wednesday, their win was progress and progress in this context is manufactured from jubilance and accomplishment. The Owls have played their way up to the ninth position in Championship and they cannot be ranked lower than Top 10 by end of week.
