West Ham has displayed interest in recruiting Genoa midfielder Morten Frendrup during the upcoming January transfer window, as per a report from TuttoJuve. However, the Serie A powerhouse Juventus is also vying for the 22-year-old’s signature, setting the stage for potential competition from Premier League contemporaries like Crystal Palace.

Reports suggest that West Ham could propose an £8.5 million deal to secure his services. Frendrup, a Denmark international, has been a consistent starter for Genoa, featuring in 18 Serie A matches and notching up four assists. His dynamic performances, highlighted by an average of four tackles and 1.2 interceptions, have piqued the interest of multiple major clubs, West Ham and Crystal Palace included.

As the transfer window looms, the Hammers, who have been making substantial strides under the management of David Moyes, are expected to pursue a key defensive midfielder, with Frendrup emerging as a promising target for the club’s ambitions. The Hammers’ progression to the Europa League knockout rounds further underscores the need for bolstering the squad with top-tier talent.

Moreover, to accommodate fresh recruits, West Ham will likely need to offload some fringe players. Reports have linked German defender Thilo Kehrer with a potential move to AS Monaco, with indications pointing towards an imminent loan deal within the next 48 hours, subsequently providing Monaco with an option to secure him permanently at the end of the season. Meanwhile, interest from Saudi Arabian clubs in Nayef Aguerd has surfaced, although West Ham seems disinclined to entertain any loan offers for the player.

In addition, West Ham winger Said Benrahma remains a subject of interest for French outfit Lyon, signaling the possibility of an impending transfer. Amidst these potential departures, the Hammers are poised to navigate a significant period of transition as they seek to both reinforce their squad and optimize their existing roster for future success.
