Spurs urged to Secure ‘Steal’ £26m Deal for ‘Beastly’ Defender Ideal for Premier League Dominance

January 4, 2024

According to i News, Tottenham Hotspur is making strides towards securing a deal for Radu Dragusin, and a £26 million agreement is emerging as a likely option. Ange Postecoglou has stressed the urgent need to strengthen his defensive lineup, and negotiations for Genoa’s Radu Dragusin are in progress. Spurs have reportedly reached an agreement on personal terms with the talented 21-year-old Romanian, but the Serie A club’s asking price remains a sticking point.

With Eric Dier falling out of favor and injury concerns surrounding Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, Postecoglou is keen on reinforcing his defensive options. Ben Davies has stepped up admirably when called upon. The potential acquisition of Dragusin, known for his robust and assertive defending akin to Romero, indicates Spurs’ commitment to supporting their manager’s project in its early stages.

While Van de Ven had a promising start in the Premier League, an unfortunate injury setback landed him in the treatment room. However, his return is imminent. If Dragusin’s signing materializes in the first week of January, aligning with Postecoglou’s preference, there’s a strong possibility of him making his debut against Manchester United. This is particularly crucial as regular partner Cristian Romero is expected to be sidelined until the end of January.
