Celtic, under the management of Brendan Rodgers, has reportedly expressed interest in acquiring Liverpool’s Owen Beck during the January transfer window, as per The Athletic’s insights into the player’s potential move to Celtic Park.

According to The Athletic, Celtic is one of the clubs keen on securing the services of the 21-year-old left-back from Liverpool, with a rumored interest in securing a permanent deal for the promising talent. Beck had been on loan at Dundee during the initial part of the season, where he impressed before returning to Liverpool.

Reportedly, Celtic’s intention behind pursuing Beck was to strengthen their left-back options. However, the young player’s prospects of securing regular playing time at the club seemed uncertain, leading to speculation ruling out the potential move.

The player’s loan spell at Dundee was evidently successful, drawing praise for his “fantastic” performances, leaving the club to express their regret at his departure. In addition to Celtic’s interest, it has been suggested that Rangers’ manager, Philippe Clement, also expressed a desire to secure the left-back’s services.

Furthermore, other clubs such as Coventry City, Stoke City, Millwall, and Hull City have inquired about potentially loaning Beck; however, Liverpool reportedly deemed it necessary to integrate him into Jurgen Klopp’s first-team squad due to injuries affecting their left-back options, particularly Kostas Tsimikas and Andy Robertson. Klopp holds Beck in high regard, evident from the decision to retain the player within the first-team fold.

Amidst these developments, Beck’s future certainly appears promising, as his inclusion in Liverpool’s first-team plans for the latter half of the season reflects the recognition of his talent. His successful loan spell at Dundee, featuring 17 appearances in the Scottish Premiership, where he contributed two goals and two assists, further underlines the potential he possesses.
