Nottingham Forest boss Ange Postecoglou is set to be given more time to settle into his new role, with no immediate pressure coming from club owner Evangelos Marinakis despite a slow start, according to Fabrizio Romano’s latest GIVEMESPORT newsletter.

Postecoglou arrived at the City Ground under challenging circumstances, replacing Nuno Espirito Santo just three games into the Premier League campaign. The shift in style has been a difficult adjustment for Forest’s squad, and the former Tottenham manager is still searching for his first victory.

Although there have been a handful of draws, results overall have been disappointing, and supporters voiced their frustration during Thursday’s Europa League defeat to Midtjylland, chanting “you’re getting sacked in the morning.” Postecoglou responded calmly, insisting he wasn’t surprised and that fans are entitled to express their feelings:
“Yeah, I heard them. They want to see their team win. They are entitled to their opinion. Nothing surprises me in football anymore.”

Romano, however, reports that Marinakis has shown no reaction to Forest’s poor start and recognises that Postecoglou needs time to adapt. “It’s just the beginning… so nothing about a reaction from the owners,” Romano wrote. “Postecoglou needs time to adapt to a new team after joining Nottingham Forest.”

Forest’s current position—17th in the Premier League—means the pressure is largely coming from the stands rather than the boardroom. Still, with a tough trip to Newcastle United next on the agenda before the international break, Postecoglou will be eager to shift momentum quickly and quieten the growing noise around his future.
