The law firm responsible for West Ham’s London Stadium deal faces a staggering seven-figure settlement following a legal dispute over the agreement.

E20 Stadium LLP, owned by the London Legacy Development Corporation, filed a negligence lawsuit against Allen & Overy, alleging their role in negotiating the 99-year lease that granted West Ham tenancy in 2013.

Termed “the deal of the century” back then, it allowed West Ham to retain ticket revenues while E20 covered significant expenses such as maintenance and stadium transformation for athletics events.

West Ham reportedly paid a nominal £3.6 million in rent last season, with each match costing taxpayers approximately £100,000.

The annual report from E20 confirmed legal proceedings against Allen & Overy, noting a settlement reached before a court hearing. While the details remain confidential, the financial statements reveal an exceptional income of £8.5 million, with up to £2 million connected to the out-of-court resolution, according to The Times.

E20, LLDC, and Allen & Overy jointly announced the resolution, emphasizing the confidentiality of the settlement terms.

Both parties involved have been asked for their statements regarding the settlement.
