Mateta’s deal runs until 2027, but with talks dragging and no breakthrough in sight, Palace may eventually have to consider offers. The striker has already shown he can deliver at the Emirates, and a move across London would give him the platform to do so on a weekly basis.
The 28-year-old’s rise has been impressive. After a difficult start to life in England, he has developed into one of the Premier League’s most effective centre-forwards.
