Wilfried Nancy’s Celtic future is seriously in doubt, in the eyes of the Hoops support at least, after the defeat to Motherwell.
The Celtic manager was under pressure before the game despite Celtic beating Livingston and Aberdeen over the Christmas break.
Nancy’s post-match Motherwell comments were also baffling as he admitted the Fir Park defeat was ‘not a surprise’ to him after his team were seriously outplayed over the whole 90 minutes.
Many Celtic fans believe that if Nancy loses to Rangers, his time at the club is up, but according to Mark Guidi, the board have a completely different stance.

Nancy must beat Rangers to claw back any goodwill from Celtic supporters over the festive period. But even if the Frenchman loses his sixth game in eight, it looks like he will not lose his job at Paradise.
Guidi told The Go Radio Football Show, “Well, what I’ve been told in terms of the hierarchy at Celtic, they will give him right through to the next transfer window in the summer.
“So that would mean he gets August, September guaranteed until next season. Obviously, he’s got the window that’s open in a couple of days.
And it’s up to the people who are responsible for recruitment. Along with him, he will obviously have his input, they need to find the number nine.
“If they don’t find the number nine, they will not win the league.”

Even if Nancy does manage to lead Celtic to a win over Rangers, the Hoops boss still has a tough task ahead of him in January.

If Celtic really are all in on Nancy, if he loses to Rangers and Hearts and gets knocked out of the Europa League, will they still stand by their manager?
