Celtic are going to watch another player that would have been perfect for their side head elsewhere.
Louis Munteanu is D.C United bound after they matched the offer that financially-stricken CFR Cluj were looking for.
Munteanu has been troublesome to say the least and hasn’t been in his best form since initially refusing to play for the Romanian Superliga outfit.
There were reports suggesting that the Hoops were going to go back in for the 23-year-old, but a new report in his homeland has said otherwise.
Egyptian side made approach for Louis Munteanu
While the Celtic board continue to dither about and ignore the glaring problem in Wilfried Nancy’s side, other teams are out making moves.
Those sides are also approaching targets and according to DigiSport, Egyptian outfit Al-Ahly tried to make a late approach for the forward.
It was too late for them, though, with D.C United set to unveil their marquee signing in the coming days, subject to a medical.
Celtic should have a striker through the door by now
Given the months between the end of the transfer window in August and when it opens in January, you’d have thought that somebody at Celtic would’ve been thinking about when they could get a forward through the door.
Even with the addition of Kelechi Iheanacho, there is no proven goalscorer in the side and it is one of the main reasons why the Hoops have been so poor.
As the days go by, the frustration continues to grow, and it is something that can be easily solved.
