MAJOR CELTIC TRANSFER COUP! Club In “Advanced Talks” To Land Former £9m-rated Striker For A Fraction Of The Price

Celtic are said to be closing in on a deal for Borussia Mönchengladbach striker Tomáš Čvančara.

The 25 year old forward is being lined up as a potential boost for the Scottish champions ahead of their key league meeting with Hearts this weekend. According to Sky Germany, talks between the two clubs are well advanced and an agreement is close.

The proposed move would see Čvančara arrive in Glasgow on a loan deal, with Celtic securing an option to make the transfer permanent in the summer. It is also reported that personal terms with the Czech international have already been agreed.

Celtic hope the addition will strengthen Martin O’Neill’s squad as they prepare to face the current league leaders. Čvančara has earned eight caps for the Czech Republic and joined Mönchengladbach from Sparta Prague in 2023 in a deal worth around £9 million.

His time in the Bundesliga has been a difficult one, with six goals coming from 49 league appearances. He spent the first part of this season on loan at Antalyaspor, although that spell ended earlier this month following a dispute over his wages.

O’Neill recently confirmed that Celtic were keen to add to the squad before the Hearts fixture. So far, right back Julian Araujo is the only new face through the door, having arrived on loan from Bournemouth.

With the transfer window open until February 2, Celtic are expected to continue exploring further options before the deadline.
