Leicester Linked With DARING Move For Chelsea Flop As Foxes Offer Shock Premier League Lifeline

Leicester City are once again being linked with a move for Chelsea forward David Datro Fofana, although completing a deal may prove difficult.

The Leicester Mercury report that the Foxes have tracked the striker before and remain interested now that he is available. Chelsea recently brought Fofana back from his loan spell with Turkish side Fatih Karagumruk, where he caught the eye with his performances.

However, Chelsea are understood to be pushing for a permanent transfer rather than another temporary move. That stance could complicate matters for Leicester, who would prefer to secure the 21-year-old on loan.

Leicester are enduring a challenging campaign following their relegation from the Premier League and face a battle to push back into promotion contention. They currently sit five points adrift of the playoff positions, but a strong run in the second half of the season could still revive their hopes.

Strengthening the forward line is seen as a priority, and Fofana is viewed as a player capable of thriving in the Championship. The Ivory Coast international was once regarded as a promising talent after arriving at Chelsea, but it now appears his future lies away from Stamford Bridge.

Where Fofana ends up remains to be seen, though Leicester may find it tough to beat rival suitors to his signature during the January window.
