McGregor SPEAKS OUT! Celtic Captain Breaks Silence With STUNNING Verdict On Schmeichel After European Disaster

Celtic’s goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is facing intense scrutiny after a string of mistakes, including a error-prone night against Stuttgart. The Denmark international has been in poor form, and many are calling for his head, but team captain Callum McGregor has come to his defence.

Speaking to TNT Sports, McGregor insisted that Schmeichel is not to blame for Celtic’s struggles, saying, “Everyone makes mistakes. Everyone has off nights. Kasper has been amazing since he came to the club. A really, really big part of our success. A big, big player in the dressing room for us as well.”

McGregor emphasized that the team stands together, win or lose, and that Schmeichel will bounce back from his current slump. “He will dust that down and go again. We are all the same. Everyone is all in together. Everyone is a team, and we lose as a team. There is no blame in terms of any of the players looking at him. He has made so many big saves for us.”

Despite Stuttgart’s dominant 4-1 win, McGregor claimed that Celtic still had belief and were playing with momentum, pointing to a late chance created by Julian Araujo as proof. “I think we nearly scored at the last kick of the ball,” he said. “Yeah, I think so. The momentum of the game, it swung. We were on top, then lose a goal. Then try to build momentum again.”

McGregor acknowledged that it’s a difficult night for the team, but emphasized that they need to move on and regroup. “For sure, it’s a difficult night, and we have to lick our wounds a little bit.”
