The upcoming closure of the January transfer window has seen limited activity at Celtic thus far, with the signing of Nicolas Kuhn being their only major move.

As the window enters its final week, speculation is rife that a striker could be on their way to Parkhead.

Peter Grant was questioned about the potential acquisition of Aberdeen striker Bojan Miovski by Celtic, to which he expressed being ‘really impressed’ by the player’s performances this season, as he conveyed to Go Radio.

Despite Aberdeen’s challenges in the Scottish Premiership, the 24-year-old has showcased his prowess by tallying nine goals from 18 matches, with 16 goals in all competitions.

The focal points of the striker discussions in Scotland appear to revolve around the likes of Bojan Miovski from North Macedonia and Lawrence Shankland from Hearts. Whether this materializes in the current transfer window or in the summer, it wouldn’t come as a surprise to witness these two talents making a leap to higher levels in the near future.

Grant was resolute in his belief that Bojan Miovski possesses the skill set to thrive at a club like Celtic and contribute to the goal tally. He emphasized, “He’s a goal scorer. If he can score goals for Aberdeen, and you get the opportunity to play as many games for Celtic, then you will score goals because we create more opportunities.”

Celtic’s pursuit of a striker is clear. While Kyogo Furuhashi remains the primary option, there is a need for a player who can provide genuine competition and elevate the team’s attacking options. For this reason, the ideal candidate would be someone ready-made to immediately make an impact, as opposed to being a young prospect, given the presence of Hyeongyu Oh for future development. However, securing such a player is easier said than done.
