West Ham is actively seeking another striker to reinforce their squad,
with Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface and Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran being prime targets, as per Alan Nixon’s report.

The Sun’s journalist, using the pseudonym X, confirmed on 24th January that the Hammers are eager to boost their attacking options during the January transfer window. They are considering revisiting deals for both players, especially Boniface, who has been in tremendous form since joining the Bundesliga club, scoring 16 goals in 23 appearances. The team had previously made an unsuccessful attempt to secure Duran’s services.

The need for reinforcements is evident as West Ham has been grappling with injuries in their attacking department. The absence of key players like Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen, and Michail Antonio, coupled with Mohammed Kudus’ international commitments, has left the squad stretched. Although Bowen’s injury is not as severe as initially feared and Kudus is returning, there is still a sense that the team is missing a crucial element. David Moyes has had to deploy Bowen out of position as a makeshift striker, highlighting the urgency of signing a dedicated forward before the transfer window closes on 1st February. This addition could provide the necessary impetus for West Ham as they brace for a challenging second half of the season, currently sitting in sixth place in the Premier League and progressing in the Europa League.
