According to The Express, Tottenham Hotspur is considering a sensational swap deal involving Brighton and Hove Albion’s Evan Ferguson and Bryan Gil. Since the departure of Harry Kane to Bayern Munich last summer, the North London club has been seeking a new striker to fill the void left by the Englishman.

Ivan Toney and Santiago Giménez have been linked as potential targets, but Ferguson has also found a place on Ange Postecoglou’s wish-list. Brighton has made it clear that they have no intention of letting the young striker leave the club, unless an offer exceeding £115m is on the table.

Recent reports have indicated Brighton’s interest in signing Gil and their attempt to initiate a loan deal with Tottenham for the winger before the end of the current transfer window.

The proposed deal could potentially include a buy clause or an obligation to buy option, making Ferguson’s move permanent next summer. The possibility of including Gil in the swap deal to secure Ferguson’s signature has also been mentioned.

Ferguson, a highly talented player, has already shown promising glimpses of his abilities in the Premier League. However, due to his youth and lack of consistent starting experience at Brighton, he may not be ready to lead the line for a big club like Tottenham just yet. Nonetheless, he could be a valuable addition for Postecoglou’s side, considering his potential in the long term.

The significant £115m valuation set by Brighton could make it challenging for Tottenham to secure Ferguson’s transfer. Time will tell whether Tottenham will pursue a concrete approach to acquire the youngster next summer to bolster their frontline.
