Don Goodman reveals shocking team that might crush Leeds’ automatic promotion dreams just before the final showdown!

March 23, 2024

Don Goodman is of the opinion that Coventry City could present a formidable challenge for Leeds United as they strive to secure automatic promotion to the Premier League.

With Daniel Farke’s Norwich City currently sitting at the top of the Championship table with eight games remaining, the promotion race has become intense, with Leicester City level on points and holding a game in hand.

Although Ipswich Town is just a point behind and Southampton trails by nine points with two games in hand, the final fixtures of the season could be crucial in determining the outcome of the promotion battle.

Goodman highlighted the significance of Leeds’ clash with Coventry City on April 6, emphasizing the strength of the opposing teams vying for a spot in the top six.

He mentioned Hull City and a resurgent Middlesbrough as other challenging opponents for Leeds United, suggesting that maintaining an unbeaten streak until the end of the season might be difficult, given the unpredictable nature of the Championship.

Leeds United’s remarkable 13-game unbeaten run in the league since the beginning of the year has positioned them strongly for promotion, thanks to their excellent form and resurgence under Farke’s leadership.

Despite the challenging fixtures ahead, which include meetings with Watford, Coventry, and Middlesbrough, Leeds’ impressive home form and recent performances indicate their capability to finish as winners in this promotion battle.

As the race intensifies, it will come down to each team’s ability to handle the pressure in the final stages, with Leeds United having the opportunity to secure a return to the Premier League if they maintain their focus and determination in the remaining games.
