Philippe Clement has vehemently supported Rangers’ post-Old Firm celebrations in response to critics, challenging them to see beyond their bias.

Despite disapproval from Celtic icons Neil Lennon and Peter Grant over Rangers’ lap of honor following their impressive comeback draw at Ibrox, Clement maintained that he and his team deserved the recognition for their resilience in overturning a two-goal deficit at halftime.

Reflecting on the match, Clement remarked, “Consider the circumstances: we concede within 22 seconds and then fall behind 2-0 in an Old Firm showdown—a situation from which no team has rebounded in over three decades. Yet, we managed to net an exceptional goal in extra time. How can one not feel a sense of satisfaction? It’s curious how diverse the perspectives are in this city, especially during Old Firm encounters.”

Disregarding the critiques colored by bias, Clement emphasized, “I am unperturbed by the opinions filtered through tinted lenses. What matters most is that we showcased determination, resilience, and a spectacular goal. While our primary aim was a victory, we strived for it throughout the game—even after equalizing. We remained on the offensive, creating chances, like the one with Cyriel Dessers towards the end, showing that we pursued all three points passionately. We take pride in our well-earned point, with the belief that more could have been achieved, accentuating our spirited response.”
