Michael Beale has voiced his opinion on the recent postponement of the Rangers’ match at Dundee and strongly supports his former club’s sense of frustration.

With the game at Dens Park being called off for the second time and marking the fifth abandonment at the venue, Rangers publicly criticized their Premiership counterparts, accusing them of neglect. Calling for decisive action from the SPFL, Rangers emphasized the need for accountability for such repeated disruptions.

Beale aligns with Rangers’ stance, particularly as the rescheduled match now sits uncomfortably close to their Scottish Cup semi-final clash with Hearts. Expressing a desire for stricter regulations within Scottish football, especially around playing surfaces and facilities, the Englishman stressed the importance of maintaining consistent standards across all clubs.

Speaking on Sky Sports Soccer Special, Beale remarked, “There is a need for the SPFL to raise the bar when it comes to the quality of playing conditions in Scotland. It seems that some pitches, particularly when playing away, may not always meet the required standard.”

“The ongoing complaints about the pitch at Dundee throughout the season indicate an underlying issue. The repeated cancellations, including the recent back-and-forth leading up to the weekend and tonight’s game, highlight the severity of the situation.”

Highlighting the scheduling challenges faced by Rangers due to the rescheduled fixture, Beale noted, “Coming off the intense Old Firm encounter, Rangers were geared up for this match—a crucial fixture in their pursuit. The game’s placement in the calendar next week, just before the semi-final, adds further strain given their upcoming away games against Ross County.”
