Despite Ange Postecoglou’s squad facing an uphill battle against the reigning Premier League champions, with a series of setbacks and key absentees adding to their challenges, Wenham remains steadfast in his optimism regarding Spurs’ prospects at the Etihad Stadium.
In an exclusive conversation with Tottenham News, Wenham expressed his dissent from the prevailing predictions of an impending heavy defeat at the hands of Manchester City. He emphasized the returning presence of Yves Bissouma as a pivotal factor, believing it will significantly bolster the team’s strength and alter the game’s dynamics.
“I don’t subscribe to the notion that we’re destined for a 4-0 loss,” Wenham asserted. “The reintroduction of Yves Bissouma adds considerable strength to our squad, and I’m confident we can make an impact.”
Dismissing the prevailing pessimism, Wenham contested the widespread assumption of an inevitable defeat owing to Tottenham’s highline strategy.
