Ange Postecoglou trusts ‘brilliant’ player with second start in PL season: Early Tottenham predicted XI against Everton

Ange Postecoglou aims for a hat-trick of consecutive victories in the Premier League as Tottenham prepare to take on Everton this Saturday.

The Australian manager recently steered Spurs to wins against Newcastle and Nottingham Forest, breaking a streak of five winless games. Despite a slew of injuries to key players, Tottenham has slid down to fifth place in the table.

Nonetheless, Postecoglou is gradually reintroducing his strongest starting eleven, even in the absence of Rodrigo Bentancur, James Maddison, and Micky van de Ven.

A pivotal decision looms in midfield ahead of the weekend clash due to Yves Bissouma’s red card against Forest. With the Mali international set to miss the next four games before departing for AFCON 2024, there’s a gap to be filled.

Oliver Skipp was the first choice to step up in place of the injured Brennan Johnson and his impressive performance at the City Ground makes him a strong contender to replace Bissouma in the upcoming match.

Guglielmo Vicario’s exceptional saves at Forest are poised to secure him continued action in the starting lineup. However, there will be at least one change in the defensive setup, with Destiny Udogie serving a suspension and Emerson Royal potentially taking his place at left-back.

Pedro Porro is anticipated to maintain his starting spot, given his exceptional form under Postecoglou’s management.

Postecoglou is likely to deliberate between Skipp and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg as potential replacements for Bissouma. While Hojbjerg has shown promise from the bench, Skipp’s impactful display after replacing Johnson at Forest favors his inclusion.

Dejan Kulusevski could reprise his central role, provided Johnson is fit to play. Additionally, the return of Pape Matar Sarr has underscored his significance, making his presence an imperative for Spurs.

The attacking trio of Heung-Min Son, Richarlison, and Brennan Johnson has displayed encouraging potential during recent weeks.
