Expressen revealed that Brighton & Hove Albion have made a substantial offer of €7m to secure the services of Malick Yalcouyé from IFK Göteborg. Reports suggest that the English club has made significant strides in their pursuit of the talented 18-year-old midfielder, a claim reinforced by the latest updates from Expressen.

Having made an impressive 14 appearances for Göteborg since his arrival from ASEC Mimosas in Ivory Coast earlier this year, Yalcouyé has garnered attention from multiple clubs. Despite facing tough competition from various sides, Brighton emerged victorious in the race for his signature. Göteborg had previously turned down an €8m bid, believed to be from Fabian Hürzeler’s outfit.

Following intense negotiations, it is understood that Brighton and Göteborg have reached an agreement on a deal worth SEK 102m [€9m] with additional bonuses. This lucrative transfer will set a new record for Göteborg, surpassing the SEK 50m they received from Benjamin Nygren’s transfer to Genk in 2019.
