Sheffield Wednesday’s Dreams Shattered as Arsenal Wonderkid Slips Through Their Grasp, Leaving Fans Fuming and Rivals Rejoicing

July 5, 2024

Sheffield Wednesday will not be securing the services of Arsenal’s young talent Mika Biereth this summer, despite their previous interest in the player as per recent reports.

The Owls recently brought in Jamal Lowe on a free transfer following his spell at Bournemouth, addressing their attacking needs after a challenging season. With offensive struggles plaguing the team in the past, manager Danny Rohl is keen on reinforcing his frontline options before the transfer window closes.

Biereth, who had an impressive loan spell last season in Scotland and later in Austria, emerged as a target for Sheffield Wednesday. However, it appears that the Championship outfit will have to miss out on signing him again, as he is poised to make a permanent move back to Sturm Graz in a £4 million deal. Despite rumors and hopes of a potential transfer, the financial constraints and Biereth’s success abroad have made it unlikely for the Owls to secure his signature.

The club will now have to shift their focus to other targets to bolster their attacking lineup before the transfer window shuts next month.
