I want to leave because…Luton Town’s Defender Shocks Fans with Monumental Departure Announcement on Social Media

Luton defender Gabe Osho has taken to social media to announce his departure from Kenilworth Road following the conclusion of his contract. The 25-year-old, who has been a free agent since his deal with the Hatters came to an end, had been in discussions with the club regarding a possible contract extension. However, it seems that Osho has made his decision to move on from Luton to seek new opportunities elsewhere. In a heartfelt message shared on Twitter and retweeted by the club’s official account, the centre back expressed his gratitude to the fans, saying, “I love you guys so much! Thank you for everything over the past 3 years. Hope to see you all soon.”

Speculation had linked Osho with a move to Sheffield United following both clubs’ relegation from the Premier League last season, as the Blades saw several players depart on free transfers. Osho endeared himself to Luton supporters by becoming a fan favorite after breaking into the first team and delivering crucial performances, including goals against Watford and Sunderland in the 2022-23 campaign. Despite facing injury setbacks during Luton’s promotion-winning season, Osho managed to make 21 appearances in the Premier League, scoring against teams like Arsenal and Newcastle United.

Having been on the radar of the Nigeria national team, Osho was unable to make his international debut due to injury. Although he had signed a contract extension last summer, it appears that he will not be adding to his impressive record of 85 appearances and five goals for Luton.
