Gabriel Osho bid farewell to Luton Town via social media last night.
With his contract expiring at the end of last month, uncertainty surrounded his future at Kenilworth Road despite his significant contributions during the 2023/24 season. Osho played a pivotal role in Luton’s journey to the Premier League, marking memorable moments with goals against the likes of Arsenal and Newcastle United.
Although discussions for a new deal began in May, an agreement couldn’t be reached, prompting interest from several Championship clubs, including Sheffield United. However, as of mid-June, a move to Bramall Lane isn’t imminent, leaving Osho as an attractive option given the Blades’ defensive restructuring.
Chris Wilder faces decisions on tactical formations and squad depth ahead of the new season, particularly in central defense where departures have created gaps that need filling urgently.
Reflecting on his time at Luton, Osho acknowledged the club’s rise from mid-table Championship status to Premier League participation, despite subsequent relegation.
