Derby County is on the verge of securing Ebou Adams, with Cardiff City manager Erol Bulut revealing his absence from their latest friendly against Kidderminster Harriers is due to an impending transfer nearing completion.
Adams initially joined Derby on loan from Cardiff in January, swiftly establishing himself as a linchpin in Paul Warne’s midfield, crucially aiding their promotion from League One. The clamor among fans for his permanent return has been persistent, but negotiations have only recently gained traction.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Bulut confirmed Derby’s offer for Adams and explained the decision to omit him from the friendly, stating, “As far as I know, we received an offer from Derby County, but nothing is finalized yet. Until then, Ebou Adams remains a Cardiff City player. We chose not to risk him [against Kidderminster] because we are nearing a deal, but in football, things can change quickly. Today we didn’t use him, but tomorrow is another day; you never know.”
The situation underscores Derby’s determination to secure Adams permanently, highlighting ongoing negotiations as both clubs aim to finalize the transfer in the coming days.
