Done Deal, Paper works Completed – Coventry City have struck an Agreement with Championship Rivals for the Transfer Deal for Top-class defender who pens deal with club

Coventry City have bolstered their development squad with the addition of young talent Harvey Broad. The 18-year-old left-back arrives from Chatham Town of the Isthmian Premier League. Broad, who earned acclaim with Chatham’s first team last season, joins the Sky Blues’ Under-21s under John Dempster’s guidance. He is set to potentially feature in their upcoming pre-season friendly against Leamington at Your Co-op Community Stadium this Saturday, kick-off 3pm.

The club expressed their enthusiasm about the signing: “We are pleased to announce the acquisition of Harvey Broad from Chatham Town. Broad has penned his first professional contract with Coventry City, marking a significant step in his career as he integrates into our development squad. He garnered attention last season, making 17 appearances and securing Chatham’s Young Player of the Season award for 2023/24. Harvey also gained valuable experience on loan at Lordswood FC, where he first tasted senior-level football.”

Broad joins recent signings Kai Yearn and Greg Sandiford in Coventry’s Under-21s squad. Yearn, a 19-year-old midfielder from Cambridge United, made headlines as the club’s youngest scorer at just 16. He contributed seven appearances for Cambridge before venturing on loan to clubs like Chelmsford City and King’s Lynn Town in the National League South and North, respectively. Sandiford, also 19, brings versatility to Coventry’s defensive lineup, primarily excelling at right-back throughout his career.
