SAD NEWS – Luton Boss names the Top-class star that will be LEAVING the club this summer

Luton Town manager Rob Edwards has confirmed that midfielder Allan Campbell is set to depart Kenilworth Road during this summer transfer window.

The 26-year-old endeared himself to Hatters supporters with his energetic performances after joining from Motherwell in the summer of 2021. Campbell made 86 appearances for Luton, scoring seven goals, including a memorable strike in a crucial 2-0 victory over local rivals Watford in April 2023, a win that played a pivotal role in Luton’s promotion to the Premier League via the playoffs.

Despite his contributions in the Championship, Campbell did not feature in Luton’s Premier League campaign last season. Instead, he spent the season on loan at Millwall, where his time was limited to just 12 appearances before falling out of favor after mid-December.

Back at Luton’s training ground, The Brache, Campbell continues to train diligently, but Edwards acknowledged the midfielder’s desire for regular playing time elsewhere.

“Al will be moving on, but for now, he’s training with us, and having him around is fantastic because he’s a tremendous professional and a great guy,” Edwards stated. “He needs to revive his career and get back to playing football regularly. These decisions are always tough, but we approach them with respect and honesty, keeping the club’s best interests in mind and considering the human aspect for the players.”

Campbell now looks forward to finding a new opportunity to reignite his career, with Luton Town supporting him in his pursuit of regular first-team football.
